 At The Brave Women’s Community Theatre, we believe individual therapy alone may not yield lasting and impactful change. We recognize the crucial importance of a supportive community, especially for women and girls.  With a secure, nurturing group of women—free from judgment—we not only accelerate our healing process but also cultivate resilience. This supportive environment empowers us to take risks, moving boldly towards our genuine goals and dreams. The knowledge  that we are known, loved, accepted, and supported provides the safety net that emboldens us to embrace challenges, secure in the understanding that we are held and safe.

  The concept for The Brave Women’s Community Theatre took root during a pivotal moment in 2019 when our founder, Lucia Severtson, grappled with a mental health crisis. In search of a supportive community of women, Lucia found a void in the kind of culture she desperately needed. Out of this experience, The Brave Women’s  Community Theatre was born, reflecting Lucia's commitment to providing what she learned women facing anxiety and depression truly need.

 Beyond love and support, Lucia recognized the importance of infusing creativity, play, and joy into the healing process. The theater becomes Lucia’s contribution, a  platform where women can engage in the creative process, actively making something meaningful. It's a space dedicated to transforming challenges into  opportunities for self-expression, growth, and shared joy. In our journey of co-creation at The Brave Women’s Community Theatre, we embrace a culture of peaceful collaboration, leaving behind the need for competition and  upstaging one another. Through this harmonious process, we discover the power of empowering each other to embrace our individuality. It's a transformative  experience where we shed the constructs and expectations that society has fed us, freeing ourselves to authentically explore, express, and celebrate our unique  selves. In this space, we thrive collectively by lifting each other, fostering an environment where every woman's individuality is not just accepted but celebrated.
